Hello, I’m Hayley
I’m a certified Holistic Sleep Consultant and mum to a 4 and 2 year old (and still very much feeling in the thick of it, yes).
When I had my first baby I felt like a total deer in the headlights when it came to his sleep. I had absolutely no clue. In the early days he never liked to be put down to sleep and would only ever sleep on us or in the sling. I was running on empty whilst also frantically googling and searching for answers to help us, because I worried that it was all a problem and that I was creating those so called bad habits. I felt so overwhelmed by all the information and ‘advice’, which was often very conflicting. Looking back now I know it was all completely normal what he was doing and that we were doing the right thing by simply responding to his normal, biological, needs.
I have become very interested and invested in infant sleep since becoming a mum and passionate about helping other parents make sense of it all on their own journey.
You are the expert on your own child and I encourage you to trust yourself and your baby and do what is right for you and your family, always. However, if things are not feeling very sustainable currently and you want to make some changes to improve sleep for you all and to feel more confident again, then there are gentle and responsive ways in which we can do it together.
My approach to sleep and supporting you and your family
Breaking down all the noise and myths, to understand how your child’s sleep actually works, based on biology and evidence.
Untangling societal expectations with education on what is normal and age appropriate baby and child behaviour.
Empowering you as the expert on your child. Working with you and not telling you what to do.
Approaching every child and family in a unique way considering a multitude of factors which could be impacting sleep (a holistic and family centered approach).
Prioritising safe sleep guidelines, always, and keeping within my scope of practice (never giving out any advice or recommendations for issues that I am not qualified to do so).
Providing truly gentle and responsive sleep strategies that you are comfortable with and that are sustainable for your family (and without having to ever leave your child to cry).
My services are suitable for children from newborn to 5 years of age. I don’t work with any non responsive sleep training strategies including cry it out, controlled crying and the Ferber method, and they aren’t available on request.
