Terms and Conditions
Thank you very much for choosing to work with me, Hayley Alexander, at The Nap Nook. Please read my Terms &Conditions prior to us working together.
What you can expect from working with me
I offer infant sleep support that looks at every child and family situation in a holistic way. This means I am considering a multitude of factors when it comes to what might be affecting your child’s sleep including physiological, nutritional, health, developmental, emotional and physical factors.
I provide education, advice and information that is -
Honest, clear and non judgemental
Gentle and responsive
Evidence based
Prioritises attachment, bonding and feeding
Considers normal biological infant behaviour that is age and developmentally appropriate
Family centred and empowers parents to be the experts on their child
Bespoke and in line with your family and your values and principles, recognising that all children and their their families are unique
I provide an inclusive and non judgemental service. I will never discriminate against anyone based on their age, gender identity, race, colour, religion, sexuality or disability.
My crayon sleep support package and ask me on email support are intended for general sleep advice and troubleshooting only and not suitable for more complex sleep issues which will require a sleep diary analysis.
Crying
I do not work with any non responsive sleep training including cry it out, controlled crying and the Ferber method. They will not be available on request. When we are making changes to your child’s sleep patterns and habits there may, at times, be occasions where your child gets upset, but it is important that we acknowledge that crying is a form of communication and we support a child through upset and change by responding to them with comfort and reassurance.
What is expected of you when working with me
That you do not share any information from your sleep support package with any third party. The sleep plan that I will provide you with will be bespoke to your child.
You will follow the safe sleep guidelines within the country in which you live. I am happy to provide education and materials on this where required.
You will share with me any medical information relating to your child which could impact their sleep and our work together.
That you are committed to making change and able to be consistent and patient when implementing changes to your child’s sleep.
You understand that your child and family are unique so there may be a level of experimentation required in order to find the right sleep modification and or strategy that is suitable for your child. I don’t make any guarantees with regards to outcome and time for this reason. We will work together to create a sleep plan that you are happy and comfortable with implementing. Our WhatsApp support period will allow us to review progress of the plan together and make any changes necessary along the way.
Communication
If you purchase email support from me, you will receive a response from me within 24 hours and a maximum of two emails of communication and support.
Both my Rainbow and Rocket sleep support packages come with WhatsApp support from me whilst you implement your sleep plan. You are welcome to send me as many queries as you like during your support period and I will respond to you as soon as I can. You can contact me Monday-Friday 08:00-19:00. I am available outside of these hours and on weekends, but I may be slower to respond. If there are times when I know that I won’t be available then I will communicate this to you ahead of time. Once you have made a booking for either package via my website, I will be in touch with you to communicate next steps.
All sleep plans will be sent within 24 hours, unless our consultation call is on a Friday then I will send your plan by close of business on the Monday.
I live in the UK so I operate on GMT or British summer time hours. I do not currently take international bookings.
If I don’t hear from you once you have received your plan, or you don’t respond to any messages that I send to you to check in on your progress, I will assume that everything is going well with implementing your plan and that you don’t require any further support from me.
Cancellation
It is your right to cancel your sleep support package with me, if it does not feel right for you. If this is the case, then the following terms would apply
Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice - no refund will be issued
Cancellation 24-48 hours notice - 50% of full amount will be refunded
More than 48 hours notice - 100% of the full amount will be refunded
This applies to all my sleep support packages - Crayon sleep support, Rainbow sleep support and Rocket sleep support.
I will require more than 24 hours to reschedule your package if you find our scheduled time does not work for you - i.e. due to illness or other commitments. In this case, I will aim to reschedule your support at the next available opportunity.
I reserve the right to cancel support packages at short notice due to personal circumstances. In this event, you will be offered a full refund or alternative dates if preferred.
Medical advice
Support provided by me at The Nap Nook is related to infant sleep only and should not be substituted for advice from the GP or any other practitioner including, but not limited to, occupational health, lactation support, nutritional support and counselling. I am happy to make recommendations of practitioners for you to speak to in these areas if you require, to ensure you receive the most appropriate care, which can be carried out alongside the sleep support with me.
Safeguarding
The welfare and safety of a child is paramount and my priority.
I will never give any advice or make recommendations that go against the current SIDS guidelines pertaining to the country in which you reside in.
I will follow local safeguarding guidelines in situations where I believe a child is at risk of neglect, abuse or maltreatment. Your confidentiality will remain except when it needs to be breached for child protection services .
